This picture, although I am aware that it's unclear, is meant to be of dead butterflies floating in oily water. The inspiration for this image came from my friend AJ, who was also responsible for the Rockstar Cars and Zombies images. I was in a bad mood, and AJ told me to think of rainbows and butterflies. This was my response.

If this piece had a real title, it would be "Melancholy." It's the first piece I drew after moving to Tacoma, and the first real piece I'd drawn since high school. My favorite part of this piece is the drop of water on the butterfly's wing (zoom!). To get a visual for that drop of water, I put a real dead moth in our kitchen sink.
